The key to the subject of prophets in the church today is not so much in understanding what they are, but rather, as we saw with the question of apostles, understanding what they are not. Beresford therefore manages to identify five distinct and different kinds of prophet in the Bible, and clearly demonstrates which of these ministries are still functional today, and which are not.
